ABOUT

LFD STUDIOS

With a passion for creating beautiful, functional pieces, I work closely with you to bring your vision to life. My comprehensive approach ensures that every aspect of your ring, necklace, bracelet or earrings reflect your unique style giving you a priceless original piece of art

I started making jewelry because I couldn’t find pieces that felt like me.

While studying illustration in college, I took a sculpture class and learned the basics of metalworking. Years later, I decided to create my own jewelry and made an Art Nouveau-inspired dragonfly pendant. That first piece sparked something in me. I fell in love with the process of transforming an idea into something tangible that could be worn and treasured.

As an illustrator, I approach jewelry much the same way I approach drawing. Every piece begins with a story, a shape, or a feeling. The flowing lines and natural forms of Art Nouveau continue to inspire my work, especially the illustrations of Alphonse Mucha. I love translating those influences into metal, stone, and shell to create pieces that feel both timeless and personal.

My Filipino heritage has also influenced the way I view craftsmanship. I was raised with an appreciation for resourcefulness, creativity, and caring for the things that matter. Those values continue to guide my work today, particularly my love for reclaiming materials and giving them a new purpose.

For many years, jewelry making was something I balanced alongside teaching art and raising my three children. As I wore my creations, people began asking if they were for sale. What started as a creative outlet gradually grew into a small business.

In 2021, after experiencing a serious illness, I stepped away from teaching and devoted more of my time to jewelry. Around the same time, I began reclaiming and re-milling precious metals, melting down old and unworn pieces to create something entirely new. There is something deeply meaningful about preserving the history and sentiment of a piece while transforming it into jewelry that can be loved and worn again.

Some of my favorite projects involve reimagining heirlooms. A brooch becomes a pendant. A bracelet becomes a pair of earrings. An unworn piece tucked away in a drawer becomes something that can once again be part of someone’s life. Seeing the joy on a client’s face when they receive a piece that carries both memory and meaning is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Every piece I create carries a connection—whether to a material, a story, a memory, or a person. My hope is that when someone wears my jewelry, they feel that connection too.

UPCYLING: A SUSTAINABLE PRACTICE

FILIPINO RESOURCEFULNESS

Every piece begins with materials that already carry a history. Through the up-cycling process, reclaimed silver, gold, and found metals are carefully refined and transformed into new forms of jewelry designed to be worn for years to come. By reworking existing materials instead of relying solely on newly mined resources, each piece carries a sense of character, purpose, and individuality that cannot be replicated. This approach also supports a more sustainable and environmentally conscious process by helping reduce waste and limiting the demand for new raw materials.

We believe beauty can come from reinvention. Scraps, unused metals, and overlooked materials are thoughtfully reshaped through craftsmanship into modern pieces that feel timeless and intentional. The process not only gives new life to precious materials, but encourages a more responsible way of creating — one that values sustainability, thoughtful production, and lasting design.

CUSTOM WORK

Every custom piece at LFD Studios begins with a conversation. Whether you’re redesigning a cherished heirloom, incorporating your own gemstones or precious metals, or creating something entirely new, the process is collaborative from start to finish. After discussing your vision, budget, and materials, you’ll receive 2-3 hand-drawn design concepts to choose from before the piece is brought to life.

Each design is handcrafted with care and refined throughout the making process, with progress shared along the way. For high-value pieces, a prototype may be created before the final work begins, ensuring every detail is just right. The result is a one-of-a-kind piece that reflects your story and is made specifically for you.
